20 Reasons to be Excited for Syracuse Football - #3

As we move closer to the 2011 Syracuse football season, Lots of Pulp will be counting down the top 20 reasons to be excited for the new year.

The SU athletic department has been through a hell of a ride since Daryl Gross took over as AD in 2004.

The football program went from bowl team, to laughing stock and back to bowl team in six years. The basketball program won two Big East titles, then plummeted out of the tournament for back to back years, and rose all the way back to No. 1 in the rankings. And the lacrosse program missed a final four and a tournament for the first time in 432 years (approximately), only to return to the mountaintop with two more national titles.

One constant has remained.

Gross uses the glare to intimidate other ADs

Doc Gross does a lot as SU, but he's definitely falling short of his potential. Where are the straight-edge razor advertisements in the Dome? What about the official head-oiling sponsor of Syracuse athletics? There's money to be made here.

But sometimes words cannot do a work of art like this justice. So now, let's all just marvel at the great shiny domepiece that is Doctor Daryl Gross.

"I have NEVER used performance enhancers
on my head. This is natural."

"Bow down to the gloss, Cantor"

"Carmelo's wearing a hat because he can't compete with me"

"What? Sorry, I can't hear you over this glare."
